Beginning her career as a Registered Nurse, Melisa built her clinical foundation in high-acuity environments, ultimately leading and operating an Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Her frontline experience cultivated a deep understanding of patient care, quality outcomes, and team performance under pressure.
Rising through the executive ranks, Melisa served as Chief Nursing Officer for multiple hospitals across the Midwest and East Tennessee, where she led large-scale clinical teams, strengthened regulatory compliance, improved patient satisfaction, and implemented strategic operational initiatives. She went on to serve as Chief Executive Officer of hospitals in Marion, Illinois, and Louisville, Kentucky, where she successfully aligned clinical excellence with financial stewardship, workforce development, and community-centered growth.
Melisa holds a Health Law degree (Executive Juris Doctor), equipping her with advanced expertise in healthcare regulations, compliance strategy, risk mitigation, and governance.
